De Lacy Executive have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Fertiliser Manager to join an established team based in Scotland. The role will provide commercial support to the Scottish Fertiliser Manager and sales teams in order to continue to the development of the fertiliser business.

The successful candidate will provide effective and timely market information to the Scottish sales teams and be responsible for daily purchasing from suppliers whilst always being focused on customers needs and providing an exceptional standard of service.

Responsibilities:

Work with the Fertiliser Manager to create and communicate price lists, terms and provide ongoing support for price queries when required.

Provide pro-active, timely ongoing communication to the Fertiliser team and regional sales teams on any product availability issues.

Through strong communication and interpersonal skills develop supplier relationships.

Maximise margins by using negotiation skills and supplier relationships to purchase at or below current market values and always looking for opportunities to widen the end to end margin.

Liaise with the logistics team to ensure purchasing from the optimum source point.

Check, authorise and margin sales taking into account the commercial strategy , strive to maximise margin opportunities whilst considering the customer needs and wider customer value.

Pre-empt any storage or contractual charges at the end of each month and work with logistics to avoid any further costs.

Requirements

Strong communication skills.

Demonstrated problem solving ability and initiative.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Strong customer focus at all times.

Organisational and administrative skills.

Good written communication skills.

Self motivated and tenacious.

Flexible approach to working hours and managing changing priorities.

An effective team player.

Valid UK driving license.
