Our client has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Global Sales Director. They are a strong company with an innovative lighting product range. This range is sold in to agriculture, in particular poultry buildings where their use significantly enhances production and welfare.

You will report directly to the CEO. As the Global Sales Director, your role will be to drive the business on to the next level of market development. You will be responsible for sales and marketing strategy to significantly drive sales and profitability in its existing markets but to also open up new routes to market in new territories with new distributors globally.

You will manage the marketing team and using your knowledge of the market, contacts within the industry and your commercial and negotiating skills you will support and develop the business through a phase of accelerated growth.

Ideally based in the UK, you will ideally have market knowledge of the US/Poland/Western Europe, but a good knowledge and experience of global sales activity in many areas will be a great advantage. Ideally you will have some poultry and or swine experience.

Responsibilities

Lead all sales and marketing activities globally.

Develop and execute the sales and Marketing strategy to agreed targets within agreed times both UK and globally

Line Management and leadership for BDMs, and the sales and marketing teams

Ensure that sales performance across the Group is achieved

Monitor closely the activities of competitors and look to possible co-operations or acquisitions

Investigate, nurture and establish new routes to market

Help to identify threats and opportunities in the market place

Candidate Requirements

Ambitious driven individual with excellent industry knowledge, and contacts

Significant commercial experience including a proven track record in a solution sales role in the Agri Tech sector, ideally with responsibility for a sales team

Excellent communicator and negotiator

Empathetic to cultural differences and used to travelling extensively

Active understanding of business processes financial data - strong analytical skills

Innovator - able to look forward

Willing to travel within Europe and globally as the role demands

Second European language helpful, but not essential
