Technical Ruminant Specialist - home based - new roleThis is a fascinating new technical and commercial role with a high status employer to support the "roll out" of a new dairy farm management platform.Your primary objective will be to maximise customer performance by providing on farm expertise, farm data monitoring and technical advisory service to customers with the objective of improving their technical and financial performance in the dairy and beef sectors.

Objectives:

Build strong relationships with farmers, customers, and supply chain partners, developing confidence and trust in technical expertise.

Maximising customer retention and financial contribution in-line with business targets.

Provide practical ruminant farm management advice in order to improve the technical and financial performance of customers utilising data services and tools.

Provide on-line training sessions with the customer to maximise their use of the platform.

Engage customers with the technology and interpret results to identify areas for improvement on farm, using these to improve customer performance.

Respond to alerts generated by the platform and liaise with customers to help interpret these alerts into practical advice.

Blend technical knowledge and data analysis to deliver key insights to customers

Train and develop colleagues on issues related to ruminant technical performance and supporting the sales of data services

To support and drive the development of new products, existing products, tools and services to our clients customer offering in ruminant data services.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and influencing skills.

An ability to operate effectively at a range of levels both internally (with technical colleagues and business leaders); and externally (with farm personnel, managers and business leaders).

The ability to translate highly technical information to suit the audience.

To be able to provide technical advice in all aspects of ruminant farm management.

Commercial acumen to support the sales and financial contribution and an appreciation of the impact of actions and advice on business results.

An ability to think differently in order to help identify opportunities and drive innovation is a vital part of this role.

Practical on farm ruminant background with the ability to understand nutrition and other technical information.

Customer facing experience

Ability to see the customer view by being customer-focused and understanding where value can be added to their business.

Presentation skills and ability to deliver training

Ability to enthuse, motivate and influence people in order to achieve desired outcome.

Supporting and developing colleagues.

Take a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure excellence at speed.

Ability to work alone with confidence but maintain important communication with the teeam

This is a home-based role but you must be prepared to travel to customers and colleagues as required throughout the UK, largely on the western side of the country. Overnight stays may be required. Full UK Driving licence essential.

Remuneration: a very competitive package will be offered to include salary, car and pension.
