We seek a Food Chain Adviser, who excels in building productive and credible relationships to be part of their experienced and dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in influencing, representing and promoting the interests of the UKs diverse agriculture sector. You will help the team to build and maintain a network of influential contacts with retailers, food service companies, food manufacturers and other stakeholders to improve the position of farmers within the food chain.
You will also lead on the delivery of consistent communications on behalf of the team across a variety of channels, providing briefings on EU policy developments and regulatory issues in areas such as food labelling, quality schemes and promotions policies.
A background in the food supply chain will be critical (retail, manufacturing or other),
Good knowledge of buyer/supplier relationships and of supply chain mechanics from farm gate to consumer.
Some knowledge of policy making processes would be advantageous,
Knowledge of the poultry industry would be desirable but is not essential
This is a Fixed Term position, providing maternity cover. It is a part time, 21 hours per week.
