Due to expansion, a Business Development Manager is sought for a very successful buildings company to cover the South East Sales Territory which includes the counties of Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
My client is a leading supplier of pre-fabricated buildings to the farming and rural community. The company specialises in servicing the farming sector throughout the south of England, East Anglia and the Midlands, but it also supplies and erects buildings to the commercial and industrial sectors within these areas.
A substantial goodwill has been built up with the rural community over the past 30+ years by providing high quality bespoke buildings and an excellent post completion service. As a result a significant portion of sales arise from repeat business from an extensive established clientele.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate not only sales ability/potential but also ability to communicate with the farming sector at all levels including networking with Land Agents and those responsible for influencing investment decisions. Importantly the candidate will become part of a team committed to driving the business forward. Opportunities could arise for career advancement either within the construction company or within the Group of companies, or other commercial interests.
A rural/farm based upbringing with a knowledge/background of farming practices/rural issues is important. Above all, a well presented and enthusiastic candidate with the ability to forge strong business relationships will be appointed.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some experience in the buildings or a related sector and will ideally have four or more of the following:
Rural surveying experience
Experience of sales representation to the Agricultural/Horticultural Industry
Sales experience in the construction industry including contract negotiation
Experience in interpretation of a bill of quantities and drawings
Experience in communicating with sub-contractors
Engineering degree or construction related qualification.
Excellent support and training will be provided.
