S267 - Herb/Salad Enterprise Manager - South

De Lacy Executive is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to develop and deliver a successful herb and salad business in line with the agreed strategy of a large farming organisation. Reporting to the Farms Director, the successful candidate will be accountable for overall strategy as well as operational planning and execution. Reporting to the Farms Director, the successful candidate will be accountable for overall strategy as well as operational planning and execution. This is fantastic opportunity for an individual to make their mark within a significant, UK agricultural business.

Responsibilities:

Providing leadership to the herb/salad farming team.

Responsible for all day to day farming activity and actioning the input strategy across all crops.

Build existing and new customer relationships and volumes.

Financial budgeting and PL reporting.

Total responsibility for implementing the Health Safety strategy.

Ensuring active compliance with all regulatory, legal, food and health and safety requirements.

Contributing and adding value across through collaboration with the farming team.

Requirements:

Essential:

A Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Agriculture or similar background.

A minimum of 5 years experience in Agriculture, with growing, supply and contractor management preferably within a food production/processing organisation.

Experience of Cereals/Potato /Herb/Salad/Veg production.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good interpersonal and management skills, able to inspire, lead and refine colleague and customer relationships to deliver overall business and customer aims.

An in depth knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain operations.

Excellent negotiator.

A high level of numeracy, being confident with costing, pricing and financial reporting.

Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills, someone who adopts a solutions focused approach to operations

Resilience and steadiness under pressure, someone who takes responsibility for making critical decisions and managing risk when required

A full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

An strong understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.

3 years in an agronomy role.

2-3 years manufacturing experience.
