An exceptional career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Account Manager to join an Internationally respected global organisation within the food ingredients sector

This is a key role and as such you will be responsible for the sales and development of industrial, local and European food customers. Developing and maintaining customer sales and leading or contributing time and commitment to company projects. You will also be responsible for all commercial matters, including risk management, supply chain optimization and contract agreements.

Role and Responsibilities:

To lead the development of sales in the UK and Ireland.

To develop and manage relationships with large volume customer base

To take responsibility for a 5 million margin contribution.

Gain an in depth understanding of customers to provide profitable solutions and help customers manage their risks (price, supply chain, quality etc.)

Initialise projects and strategic commercial proposals which lead to profitable growth

Develop plans for selected customers, frequently contacting customer service, product line managers and fellow sales team members to bring the right value proposition and service level to customers

Responsible for negotiating business proposals, terms and conditions and represent the company at customer visits, trade fairs, industry events and host seminars.

Coordinate with the marketing department to evaluate customer and consumer trends and capture value creation opportunities.

To liaise closely with the central office trading team.

Provide monthly input for the team game plan

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Proven experience in sales and account management, in a B2B environment.

Excellent sales and business development track record in food ingredients or related sectors e.g. FMCG, Beverages, Ingredients, Chemicals

Possess strong consultative selling skills and a drive for success

Knowledge of international trade terms and conditions

Business acumen attitude, affinity with trading/risk management, agricultural commodities and markets

Experience and knowledge in oilseeds and fats industries would be beneficial

Experience of business tools ie. SalesForce.com, integrated business planning, long term supply agreements would be beneficial

IT literacy with good Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Customer focused with strong networking skills

Ability to take initiative

Proven analytical and conceptual skills

Ability to work independently

Strong team player

Location: This is a UK home-based role

Remuneration:

Highly competitive salary plus car, private health care and contributory pension scheme.
