H153 - Broiler Breeder Assistant Farm Manager - Herefordshire
Our client is looking for a dedicated Assistant Farm Manager to work on their Chicken Breeding Facility in Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to pursue a career in the poultry industry.
Responsibilities will include:
Working with the Farm Manager to ensure all aspects of running the farm are met from chick in-take to turnaround.
Maintaining safe work practices of all staff and contractors on site.
Ensuring the welfare of livestock, feeding ordering, ventilation management, vaccination, record keeping etc. are met.
Covering farm in managers absence, when fully trained - carrying out pager cover and dealing with alarm calls during this period.
The successful candidates should have strong stockmanship skills with enthusiasm and the ability to learn. Candidates with experience in Chicken Breeding, rearing or laying would be highly desirable. Although candidates with broiler experience would also be considered.
The ability to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties - essential.
Proven effective communication skills and people management skills - essential.
Self-driven to achieve results - essential.
Basic Computer skills - essential.
UK driving license.
NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production or similar qualification - desirable but not essential.
