An excellent career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager who is seeking to develop their career with a dynamic, expanding and award-winning food manufacturing company (FMCG). Previous experience in the feed or milling industry with experience in process and packaging equipment will be a strong advantage.
The ideal applicant will be professional and astute with considerable experience in an engineering management position. You will have a strong knowledge and experience of both mechanical and electrical engineering and will have progressed your career from a hands-on engineer through to management.
The Role and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will manage the whole spectrum of engineering from planned maintenance, to continuous improvement of systems, plant and machinery along with the management of a robust critical asset management system for a multi-site operation. You will lead and project manage engineering driven installations and upgrades within the factories and therefore, strong project management skills are critical. A strong team leader able to challenge, motivate and performance manage a diversely skilled team of engineers from multi-disciplines. The successful candidate will have significant visibility within the company, developing new ways of working to improve cost effective plant improvements and working rotas which add value and enable the company to operate with minimum disruption are critical factors of this role.
Experience in managing engineering teams across a multi-site business
Strong numeracy, mechanical reasoning, communication and organisational skills
Proven experience as a senior engineer with an ability to drive high performing teams
A six-sigma qualification would be desirable but not essential however knowledge of continuous tools and techniques is essential
Proven project management expert evidencing full lifecycle implementation and handover
Minimum of a formal technical/engineering qualification, preferably a degree in an Engineering Discipline or related variant.
Self-motivated and able to multi-task handling multiple priorities.
Currently be in a management leadership role with a Minimum of 5+ years track record.
