De Lacy Executive is seeking a field officer in the East to assist in sourcing potatoes for a world leading brand in high quality potato products. The role involves advising and monitoring crops in order to maintain a key supply chain from aligned growers.The successful candidate will also observe related quality and care systems, ensuring that raw material meets food safety regulations and customer requirements.
De Lacy Executive is seeking a field officer in the East to assist in sourcing potatoes for a world leading brand in high quality potato products. The role involves advising and monitoring crops in order to maintain a key supply chain from aligned growers.
The successful candidate will also observe related quality and care systems, ensuring that raw material meets food safety regulations and customer requirements.
Consult with suppliers about varieties, product quality, food safety requirements, customer requirements and volumes.
Demonstrate and maintain a good relationship with growers to include regular visits help explain or answer any questions about varieties, quality demands and growing methods.
Coordination of the delivery of seed potatoes to growers.
Invoices, discounts, prices etc. according to procedures and in consultation with the raw material manager.
Advising growers on methods of cultivation, novel techniques and products, crop protection, crop storage and new varieties.
Maintenance and continuous improvement of the grower base.
To keep contract volumes up to date and accurate in order to plan the seasons potato storage programme.
A recognised agricultural qualification at diploma/degree level or equivalent.
3 years in an agronomy role (essential).
H+S, GMP and Food Safety qualifications (desirable).
2-3 years manufacturing experience (desirable).
SAP/SCADA experience (desirable).
An enthusiastic and flexible team player with good interpersonal skills.
The ability to use available information and procedures to make decisions and seek input from others as appropriate.
A full UK driving licence.
A competitive salary is offered depending on experience.
