S240 - Breeding Technician - Cambridgeshire

De Lacy Executive has been retained to recruit a Breeding Technician in Cambridgeshire for a leading seed business. The successful candidate will join the Breeding Station team, working across a variety of crops both inside and outdoors. Depending on the candidate, extra responsibilities within oilseeds and cereals can be available. De Lacy Executive has been retained to recruit a Breeding Technician in Cambridgeshire for a leading seed business. The successful candidate will join the Breeding Station team, working across a variety of crops both inside and outdoors. Depending on the candidate, extra responsibilities within oilseeds and cereals can be available. This is great opportunity to work in the field of plant breeding and become an essential member of a highly successful team.

Responsibilities:

Running a static harvest operation in field.

Management of teams of seasonal workers.

Machinery operation - including tractor, sprayer, forklift and lorry driving.

Involvement in breeding program and station team activities in the greenhouses, barns and fields.

Requirements:

Willingness to work across all technical plant breeding departments over a range of tasks.

UK driving licence essential.

Counterbalance forklift and telehandler licenses needed - training can be provided.

Relevant farm machinery operation experience.

Willingness to gain LGV and trailer licenses if not already held.

Willingness to work extended hours during harvest, drilling and other peak periods.

Trustworthiness and reliability needed; has to be able to work unsupervised, must be self-motivated.

PA1, 2, 4, 6, 11 desirable - training can be given.

Willingness to travel in the UK as and when required.
