The principal purpose of the role is to support the function of the McDonalds UK Agriculture team within the Global Sustainable Sourcing Team and UK Supply Chain Department including the development and delivery of the Farm Forward programme.
Provision of technical agriculture support to the wider business and assist with the delivery of key sustainability projects as part of the Farm Forward programme.
Responsibility for the delivery of specific category sustainable supply groups including RD programmes.
Effective communication of McDonalds sourcing and sustainability values to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Development of the successful McDonalds Progressive Young Farmer programme.
The successful candidate will also:
Adopt a strong collaborative approach to supporting the aims of the Agriculture team, UK Supply Chain Department and Global Sustainable Sourcing Team.
Work closely with relevant teams within McDonalds UK Departments including QA, Purchasing, Communications, Public Affairs, Legal, Education and Marketing.
Work closely and build relationships with suppliers and franchisees.
Build relationships with key industry stakeholders e.g. Farming Unions, Assurance Schemes, Levy Bodies, Government Departments, NGOs, Universities, Food and Farming media.
Relevant agriculture or agri-food degree or equivalent.
Significant experience within a related agriculture or agri-food industry.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Computer Literate- proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good team worker who can use own initiative.
