S222 - Global Analytical Technician - West Midlands

De Lacy Executive is looking to recruit a global analytical technician to be based in the West Midlands. The successful applicant will part of the global formulation development team and will be responsible for the testing of formulation and seed samples in support of the formulation development group. The global analytical technician will work closely with formulation scientists and chemists to ensure that all analytical data is generated to the appropriate international standards. This position will also support the formulation group by conducting a wide range of laboratory duties in support of new and existing products.

The successful applicant will part of the global formulation development team and will be responsible for the testing of formulation and seed samples in support of the formulation development group. The global analytical technician will work closely with formulation scientists and chemists to ensure that all analytical data is generated to the appropriate international standards. This position will also support the formulation group by conducting a wide range of laboratory duties in support of new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

To support the global formulation development team by conducting the required chemical analysis and generating accurate data within the agreed time lines according to the principles of GLP.

Support the global formulation scientist with new laboratory infrastructure.

Conduct chemical analysis (HPLC/GC) on samples with a wide range of active ingredients.

Maintain accurate records e.g. instruments, analysis and QC.

Maintenance of analytical equipment to an acceptable standard in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Develop, implement and validate new methods for different active ingredients as required.

Support the global formulation scientist with new laboratory infrastructure.

Support the global formulation development group as required.

Work according to the principles of GLP, following documented procedures such as SOPs methods and policies.

Contribute to maintaining current safety standards.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience working in an analytical environment with HPLC and GC.

Ideally A Levels, HNC/HND or relevant BSc in Analytical Chemistry or relevant subject.

Broad knowledge of analytical chemistry, specifically HPLC, GC and ICP.

Awareness of regulations for the safe handling of chemicals (e.g. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health COSHH) and the ability to conduct risk assessments.

Good organizational skills and the ability to work to their own daily schedule with minimal supervision.

A sound understanding of the principles of GLP.

Ability to complete routine, skilled operations with minimal errors.

Computer literacy for the use of Excel and Access databases, plus other MSOffice software.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Diligent and willing to learn a wide variety of tasks.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
