G331 - Feed Advisor - Yorkshire
A vacancy has arisen for a Ruminant Feed Advisor. Our client is a very successful, well managed and highly respected business. As well as providing on farm technical feeding advice, the role will require you to sell. The overall aim is to minimise cold calling and focus on adding value on farm and collecting information to contribute to a soft sales approach. The trading territory will largely be to cover Yorkshire and possibly into the surrounding areas.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to be a person rather than a figure in an organisation. The scope and responsibilities of the role will depend upon the experience of the successful candidate. This opportunity will suit someone who seeks greater freedom of expression in the way their customers livestock are fed.
Ideally, applicants will have ruminant feed sales experience and strong farmer contacts in the area. They will also have the ability influence the feeding management of a farm and to be the first "port of call" by a farmer for advice. However, candidates that have strong dairy practical experience and who have ambition and aptitude are of particular interest.
The successful candidate will have:
Knowledge of ruminant feeds and nutrition.
The skills to influence people (this is more than just being good at talking to farmers).
Excellent negotiation skills
Have a pragmatic approach and strong commercial awareness.
Credibility among the agricultural community.
Determination and resilience.
Valid UK driving licence.
