G310 - Feed Specialist (Potential Advanced Trainee) - Midlands
A vacancy has arisen for a Ruminant Feed Specialist. Our client is a very successful, well managed and highly respected business. As well as providing technical support to the sales team, the role will require going on farm to advise on feeding issues. The trading territory will largely be to cover the Midlands and into the surrounding areas. There is an established customer base in the territory.
The position will involve learning about ruminant feeds and helping farmers to select what is going to be most economical and profitable for their purposes and promoting the company as a supplier of feeds. This is a role for a confident person who is comfortable talking to farmers about their businesses in order to identify the opportunities to sell appropriate feeds to them. This is not "a foot in the door sales role" - it is about selling the right product to the farmer and providing a good service.
The scope and responsibilities of the role will depend upon the experience of the successful candidate. Applications are encouraged from fully experienced feed specialists and those who have a technical feed sales background. However, candidates that have strong dairy practical experience and who have ambition and aptitude are also of particular interest.
The successful candidate will have:
A broad experience, understanding and keen interest in UK farming - particularly dairy.
Enthusiasm for improving livestock performance.
Accurate and attentive to detail.
Competent at prioritising competing demands.
IT literate and capable of operating a variety of company systems.
A team player.
Ideally an agricultural qualification - HND and above.
Valid UK Driving Licence .
