H071 - Assistant Broiler Breeder Farm Managers - Herefordshire
Our client is looking for dedicated Assistant Farm Managers to work on several of their Commercial Chicken Breeding Facilities in Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Clients expanding and fully integrated agricultural process.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the day to day management of the farm and its team.
Responsibilities will include:
Working with the Farm Manager to ensure all aspects of running the farm are met from chick in-take to turnaround.
Maintaining safe work practices of all staff and contractors on site.
Ensuring the welfare of livestock, feeding ordering, ventilation management, vaccination, record keeping etc. are met.
Covering farm in managers absence, when fully trained - carrying out pager cover for the farm every other weekend and dealing with alarm calls during this period.
Working on other farm sites, as and when needed.
The successful candidates should have experience in Chicken Breeding, rearing or laying however someone with other poultry stockmanship experience would be considered. Candidates with a degree in Animal Science who are looking to progress their career in poultry are also encouraged to apply.
The ability to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties - essential.
Proven effective communication skills and people management skills - essential.
Self-driven to achieve results - essential.
Basic Computer skills - essential.
Possess own transport in order to be able to travel to other local farm sites - essential.
NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production or similar qualification - desirable however training will be given.
Valid UK driving licence.
A competitive remuneration package is offered alongside a relocation allowance.
