De Lacy Executive seeks an ambitious and commercially minded Assistant Insurance Sales Agent/Group Secretary. You will ensure the organisation has a high and valued profile within the local group area, connecting in a relevant way with farmers, growers, stakeholders and the rural community at large. As Group Secretary you will sell a range of membership services.

The successful candidate will have an affinity with the rural community and a good knowledge of UK agriculture. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, combined with sales or customer service experience. Knowledge of commercial general insurance is desirable but is not essential as full product training will be provided.

This challenging and rewarding role will offer you the benefit of running your own business with the backing of a major company.

Group Secretary Responsibilities:

Manage the membership and potential membership income from full farming (core) members within the group area.

Manage the company profile within the local community

Manage the requirement for meetings and events

Have a knowledge of and provide information on policy priorities and membership services

Provide assistance and direction for members to help solve their farm business problems

Assistant Sales Agent Role:

Plan, lead and deliver sales and marketing activities in order to achieve sustainable profitable growth, meet targets and develop market place potential.

Ensure that the agency business provides quality advice and service to customers.

Employ, reward and train a team that provides continuous coverage for the Agency.

Ensure that the agency business complies with the Training Competence scheme within the Agency to ensure protection of the interests of the customer.

Meet the requirements of the regulators and NFU Mutual for being a Fit and Proper person, including maintaining the appropriate level of solvency.

Lead, coordinate and operate local requirements of sales, servicing and financial control in accordance with your level of authority and the Business Operating Manual.

Build and maintain professional relationships with key contacts and customers

Maintain appropriate records to monitor, review and act on any reporting requirements to meet your contractual responsibilities (and make these available for audit when required).

Uphold the company brand by providing suitable office premises and ensuring office opening hours meet customer requirements to provide a consistently high standard of customer experience.
