Our client seeks an ambitious manager with the potential to grow into a senior role and be involved with key commercial activities of the business. The company is very well respected, established and profitable. It has an intelligent, strategic and forward looking approach to its market.

This is a new role designed to provide additional senior resource and expertise as the business continues to develop and is part of a medium/long term succession plan.

Key Responsibilities.

A great deal of variety in this fast moving environment will be offered to a team player who is sufficiently adaptable to assist in the management of a number of business activities with growing levels of responsibility and specialism. These may include Marketing, Sales, Pricing, Transport, Competitor Analysis, Purchasing or Strategic Planning.

The key contacts will include the CEO, Sales Director, sales team, customers, transport, production and administration teams and suppliers.

Key Attributes.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years previous experience in agri-business at junior/ middle management level and will be seeking to grow into a more senior commercial role.

Applicants with experience in one or more of the disciplines described above will be welcome.

A livestock sector background would be helpful but is not essential.

Assertiveness, proactivity and diplomacy skills are critical along with the ability to "make things happen".

The ability to take initiative yet act for and with the team is critically important.

Resourcefulness, diligence and an eye for detail plus the intellect to explore and challenge management issues will be vital.

The ability to keep "many balls in the air" will be essential.

The Rewards. This role will attract a remuneration package commensurate with experience and reflecting the responsibilities to be undertaken. The rewards will expand in line the level of responsibilities.
