A512 - Area Sales Manager - Southern UK - Materials Handling Equipment

Our client is a long-established and globally respected company who are focused on engineering manufacture. They are a leading supplier of Bulk Materials Handling equipment.

A highly motivated, dynamic sales person is required to cover the Southern UK sales territory.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering a high level of profitable sales growth and developing a regional sales management strategy. You will be the national lead for the Food Processing, Beverage, Chemical Pharmaceutical market sectors.

The role:

Identify, develop deliver sales, marketing and product service development initiatives.

Identify, develop and manage key customer accounts.

Develop a network of project companies who provide turn-key solutions and contractors providing installation after-sales service to customers in the designated geographic areas.

Manage and report on the performance against KPIs of the project companies and contractors. Identify best practice and ensure sales opportunities are maximised and remedial action is taken for any issues.

Generate sales leads ensuring profitable sales growth.

Plan customer visits to make sales, deal with enquiries / issues and identify Customer requirements.

Develop new Customer base for products and services and generate sales from potential new Customers


Candidate Requirements:

Proven sales/ account management experience, ideally obtained in the Materials Handling Equipment or Machinery sectors

Ability to build strong Customer relationships.

Strong Engineering knowledge is essential

Financial and commercial acumen.

Sales planning experience.

Strong negotiation skills..

Professional communication and presentation skills.

Implementation, monitoring and control of sales systems.

Knowledge / awareness of quality systems, processes and improvement activities.

People, management and leadership skills.

Excellent time management skills

Coaching, training and appraisal capabilities.

High level of integrity and trust with customers colleagues.

Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Committed and target/action focused.

Takes ownership and responsibility for Customer accounts

Full, clean UK driving licence.
