M580 - BOORTMALT Key Account Commercial Support Manager - Bury St Edmunds
Key Account Commercial Support Manager to manage export sales of high quality malt to international customers. This fast paced role will include overseas travel - previous commodity markets experience ideal.
Boortmalt are one of the largest global malting companies with more than 1.1 million tonnes of malt sold throughout the world each year - their parent company are Axereal, the largest French grain cooperative. De Lacy Executive have been exclusively retained by Boortmalt to find an ambitious and commercially able individual to join the UK sales team as Key Account Commercial Support Manager to be based at the Bury St Edmunds office.
The main focus of this new role will be to build on existing customer relationships and to develop enduring new ones (with an emphasis on UK export markets); to achieve satisfactory volumes and margins. Relationships are to be built on trust, provision of sound advice and innovative supply solutions that deliver value for both the customer and Boortmalt. The appointed individual will also assist in the coordination, management and communication right along the supply chain from customer, through operations, to raw material procurement, so helping to optimise and balance customer needs and business profitability. There will be considerable contact also with the Group Sales team who are based in Antwerp. International travel to visit key customers overseas will also be another element of this role.
This role will suit candidates with 1-3 years of work experience within the agricultural supply trade, perhaps with an agricultural merchant or grain company as a farm trader, sales person, or analyst, who are now seeking a new challenge in a fast paced international setting.
Candidate Requirements: -
Educated to degree level (preferably Agriculture/Food Science/Life Science related).
Post-graduate commercial/management degree - helpful but not essential.
An appreciation of global agricultural and commodity markets from an economic international trade perspective.
A strong communicator/influencer with the ability to develop solid long-term relationships across a range of levels and international cultures.
Some Customer Relationship Management experience with established track record.
Ideally some experience in an international sales context.
Understanding of logistics and global shipping methods and practices.
A "can do" attitude and ability to multitask.
Close attention to detail.
Good interpersonal/team-working skills.
Sound decision making based on sound judgement.
An ability to work to tight deadlines and in a pressurised environment to deliver exceptional results.
An international outlook cultural sensitivity.
Willingness to travel overseas up to 20% of time.
Ability to use usual business software - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and ideally some ERP experience.
