Experienced Crop Trials Officer or RD Agronomist or Research Scientist sought to join a successful and growing Global Crop Protection business to work as a Product Performance Scientist. This role will suit candidates who enjoys handling biological data - and have detailed understanding of current agrochemical regulatory requirements. The purpose of the role is to define, plan and execute regulatory, development and sales support efficacy and selectivity trials across Europe - so providing a cohesive set of data on all products across the portfolio. The appointed individual will be able to manage the processes involved in crop trials research and to move projects forward to their conclusion.
The main duties of the role will be:
To assess scientific / biological data for each product within each country and identify data gaps for the production of Biological Assessment Dossiers
To identify and interpret changes to the efficacy regulations and recommend strategies to encompass them in day-to-day operations.
To assist with the management of global data to support the Crop Protection and Seed Treatment business.
To ensure all work is economically justified and manage approved budget
To provide regular updates to the Group Manager
Be an active member of the product performance group, providing guidance and mentoring to the junior members.
Contribute to the maintenance of a biological database for efficient data processing in main regulatory formats as described by OECD.
Place and co-ordinate contract trials throughout Europe with subsequent data and report cataloguing.
Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and functional groups
Educated to Degree level in Biology, Agricultural Science, or another relevant scientific subject
Experience in biological efficacy testing in laboratory and field situations - including horticultural or crop trials.
Ability to understand, interpret and assess biological data and write reports.
Good organisational and communication skills
Computer literacy - including the use of Excel and ARM
A sound knowledge of agronomy, crop protection practices and understanding of plant protection products
Familiarity with quality systems such as GLP Official Recognition (ORETO) would be helpful.
LOCATION: Home based in UK or Europe
