An Retail Supply Chain Manager vacancy has arisen with a prestigious Supply Chain services provider to a major retailer.
This key role is instrumental in identifying change along the supply chain to add value, by providing technical ruminant insights along with practical/innovative and commercial solutions that help deliver and meet consumer expectations.
The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of Dairy/Beef farming methods and is likely to have had at least one job, or more, since graduating and is looking to develop their commercial career in the food supply chain.
This is a home-based role, but the successful candidate will be expected to visit the Midlands head office on a regular basis. For the right candidate, a contribution towards re-location expenses may be available.
Responsible for the key client relationship, managing the current business and developing new opportunities.
Reporting on progress and issues via KPI indicators to Management. Reporting progress against the business plan.
Working with colleagues on identifying and evaluating potential innovations and applying the latest research and development to enhance the business offering.
Work with the account team to manage budgets, pricing strategies and business plans.
Ideally Educated to degree level in an agricultural discipline
Proven experience of working in a technical and /or commercial environment
A detailed understanding of Dairy/Beef farming methods and systems is essential
A detailed awareness of key KPIs
Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service
Experience at negotiating at a senior level
Excellent communication skills with a strong level of written and verbal English
Self-motivated, excellent time management and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop working relationships with external parties
Highly organised, a team player with excellent attention to detail.
IT skills essential, ideally with experience of data analysis
A positive can do attitude and resilient
Full driving license is required as the role requires some travel
Candidates must be willing to travel throughout the UK and occasionally stay away from home.
