M551 - Regional Agronomist - RD - Southern Counties
Great opportunity to join a national team of research-based agronomists working with growers, agronomists and the whole industry. We need an experienced RD Agronomist to cover the Southern Counties area from a home base.
Great opportunity to join a leading edge Technical and RD team at the forefront of UK plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy. You can lead a field crops trials programme and independent research and then help to provide impartial, trials-based variety and crop husbandry information advice.
Our well respected client is seeking to strengthen its national team of research-based agronomists - hence this vacancy has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Regional Agronomist to cover the Southern Counties area from a home base.
The appointed individual will be responsible for delivering technical information and services to farmers, growers, and agronomists, supported by an extensive trials capability and a team of specialists. The delivery will be by various means including: indoor and outdoor group meetings, events, technical updates, telephone contact and regular written communications.
The Regional Agronomist will also design a programme of field trials and crop trials to meet the needs of the organisation and its farmer contacts - and must also be able to interpret, analyse and report the trial results.
Although the role will be based from home there will be the need for occasional nights away and there will be some flexibility in working hours to reflect occasional evening meetings. Field site visits will be a regular feature of the role.
This role could suit either an RD Agronomist with a strong crop trials background, who is now ready to take the next step - or an experienced commercial agronomist looking for a more technically trials orientated role.

Experienced agronomist or RD agronomist or crop trials manager
A degree or HND in plant science, agriculture or related subject
BASIS Crop Protection and FACTS certification preferred.
At least 2-3 years (UK) crop protection experience especially in combinable crops with a sound knowledge of arable crop field trials.
Good communication and presentation skills
Able to talk to and understand farmers and agronomists and interact at different technical levels.
Able to work autonomously, self-starter, highly motivated.
Full driving licence
