S183 - Arable Field Officer - North - Home-based

De Lacy Executive has been asked to recruit an Arable Field Officer in the North for a plant breeding representative body. The organisation acts on behalf of members supporting a wide range of agricultural seed including cereals, herbage species, forage maize, sugar beet and amenity grasses.This home based role will include undertaking audits at the premises of royalty paying sub-licensees and ensuring that royalties are declared and correctly paid. The successful candidate will also be responsible for determining that licence terms are met and that members plant breeders rights are respected as well as auditing seed processors.

De Lacy Executive has been asked to recruit an Arable Field Officer in the North for a plant breeding representative body. The organisation acts on behalf of members supporting a wide range of agricultural seed including cereals, herbage species, forage maize, sugar beet and amenity grasses.

This home based role will include undertaking audits at the premises of royalty paying sub-licensees and ensuring that royalties are declared and correctly paid. The successful candidate will also be responsible for determining that licence terms are met and that members plant breeders rights are respected as well as auditing seed processors.

Responsibilities:

To audit royalty accounting records and compliance with licence terms, agreements, or contracts where applicable, for certified seed sub-licence holders at licensees premises.

To audit compliance with other licences or contracts, including VP Licence holders, farm saved seed processor agreements, farmer use of farm saved seed and any other arrangements that may be introduced from time to time.

To investigate possible instances of a breach of licensed activity or agreements relating to the collection and payment of royalties on farm saved seed.

To enforce the return of accurate farm saved seed declarations and payments from farmers, under the direction of the enforcement manager, obtaining certified seed sales and other seeds related activities from sub-licensees and farm saved seed processors.

To deal with and make telephone calls to and from farmers in relation to the farm saved seed collections at peak periods.

To represent the Society at various meetings, conferences and agricultural events in the North as required.

Requirements:

Essential

Accuracy and excellent attention to detail

Numeracy

An enquiring mind

Good telephone manner and interpersonal skills, able to establish a rapport with farmers, seed merchants and processors.

Computer literate and able to use standard Microsoft Office applications

Flexible approach to working hours and willing and able to travel extensively (Northumberland to Perth).

Clean full UK driving licence

5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English [or equivalent]

Desirable

Experience of the seed industry, farming or audit desirable

Educated to A level or higher
