H023 - Herd Manager - West Midlands

An exceptional opening has arisen for a Herd Manager, on a substantial, well invested and extremely credible intensive dairy unit. Our client is seeking a candidate to manage a progressive and profitable dairy business to continue and improve the highest standards of husbandry and management. This is a fantastic chance to join a progressive farming operation. Milking takes place 3 times a day through a 60 bale rotary parlour.

The Responsibilities:

Maintain/improve breeding and fertility regimes.

Manage the feed system whilst monitoring intakes and wastages

Manage the dairy team and delegate daily duties.

Keep animal health and welfare to a high standard.

Ensure all paperwork is completed as required

Attend regular review meetings with the owner.

Enforce stringent biosecurity.

The Requirements:

Several years of UK dairy farm Management experience with a passion for the industry.

An agricultural qualification e.g. Degree/ HND

Willing to give a long term commitment to the role.

Flexible and with the right attitude to fit in with the existing team.

Capable of maintaining the farm to extremely high standards.

Well organised and proactive.

Computer literate.
